US Cotton Export Weekly Report: Contract Signing And Shipping Volume Decreasing

According to the USDA report, from March 12 to 18, 2021, the net number of Upland Cotton in the United States in 2020 / 21 will be 615000 tons, 38% less than the previous week and 2% higher than the average value of the previous four weeks. The main buyers were Vietnam (30700 tons), Turkey (17500 tons), Pakistan (5035 tons), Peru (3379 tons) and Bangladesh (1610 tons). The United Arab Emirates (658 tons) and China (408 tons) cancelled the contract.

The net contracted volume of Upland Cotton in the United States in 2021 / 22 is 15700 tons. The main buyers are China (9390 tons), Pakistan (1996 tons), South Korea (1792 tons), Honduras (703 tons) and Turkey (590 tons). In that week, the United States 2020 / 21 upland cotton freight volume was 71100 tons, 11% less than the previous week and 9% lower than the average value of the previous four weeks. Destinations include China (14100 tons), Pakistan (11600 tons), Bangladesh (9571 tons), Vietnam (9253 tons) and Turkey (8323 tons).

In 2020 / 21, the net contracted volume of Pima cotton in the United States was 15900 tons, which was flat compared with the previous week and decreased by 29% compared with the average value of the previous four weeks. The main buyers were India (703 tons), Austria (295 tons), Honduras (295 tons), Bangladesh (159 tons) and Pakistan (91 tons).

In the same week, the U.S. export shipment of Pima cotton in 2020 / 21 was 2109 tons, 10% less than the previous week and 33% lower than the average value of the previous four weeks. The main exports were India (658 tons), China (408 tons), Pakistan (227 tons), Thailand (204 tons) and Peru (204 tons).
