Guangdong Provincial Department of industry and information technology recently issued an initiative to set up a "chief data officer" in the advantageous industries of Guangdong Province. On October 29, at the preparatory meeting of 2021 Guangzhou garment industry chain conference, the first activity of the 29th Guangdong fashion week, the Association officially appointed Dr. Wen Danfeng as "chief data officer", established a new mechanism to stimulate the vitality of digital innovation in the economy, and accelerated the process of digital transformation of textile and garment industry.

In the new development period of the "14th five year plan", all walks of life are talking about digital transformation and data-driven. The chief data officer should have the ability of resource integration and reasonably and effectively match the data elements and business with the help of advanced concepts, technologies and tools. The chief data officer must have data capability, have a good sensitivity to data, be able to realize the management and governance of the whole life cycle of data, and have the business ability to know how to solve business problems and improve business value through data.

In February this year, Guangdong clothing association and the interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary doctoral team represented by Dr. Wen Danfeng established the Digital Collaborative Innovation Center of textile and garment industry in Guangdong Province. Since its establishment, the Digital Collaborative Innovation Center of Guangdong textile and garment industry has carried out a number of work in an orderly manner.
