Big river, big Wuhan, guqin East Lake Yellow Crane Tower. Jiangcheng Wuhan, a city worn by the Yangtze River, has an important position in our country since ancient times. The four words of "nine provinces' thoroughfare" generalize its charm briefly and briefly. As the core city of the Yangtze River economic belt, with the official issuance of the outline of the Yangtze River economic belt development plan in 2016, the status of Wuhan economic circle is becoming more and more important. Especially with the successful hosting of the Seventh World War Games held in Wuhan this year, it has attracted the attention of the whole world.

Wuhan has a place in many colleges and universities that train professionals in textile and clothing industry. Founded in 1958, the Wuhan Textile University is located in Wuhan. This is also one of the few specialized textile schools in our country where the name of the university is still known as "Textile University". The school has a professional school of materials science and engineering, textile science and engineering, clothing and clothing college. At the same time, it was founded in 1920 by the Wuchang fine arts school and a long history of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts.

November 7th ~8, jointly organized by the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association and the regenerated cellulose fiber industry green development alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "CV alliance") and the "CV Sustainable Textile creative design competition" hosted by Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology, ended the first campus publicity conference held by Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology, and arrived in Wuhan. Two campus publicity sessions were held at Wuhan Textile University and Hubei Institute of Fine Arts.

With the scarcity of resources and energy, green development has become a global issue. "Green water and green hills are Jinshan Yinshan", a very vivid image of China's accelerated green development and high quality development. As China's traditional pillar industries, important livelihood industries, and industries with new advantages in international competition, the new orientation of textile industry in the new stage is technology, fashion and green. It can be said that green has become the new connotation and new driving force of China's textile industry.

The purpose of the "CV Sustainable Textile creative design competition" is to promote the concept of sustainable development of civilization, economy, green and low carbon, and guide the textile industry and young designers to focus on the sustainable development of textile raw materials, and choose more renewable and degradable textile raw materials to guide the green transformation and upgrading of the textile industry from the source.

Green environmental connotation interpretation of "future" design theme

At the seminar of two institutions of Wuhan Textile University and Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, Wang Yang, director of art and technology at Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology School of materials design and engineering, introduced in detail to the students about the significance, form of entry and the scope of entries covered by the "CV Sustainable Textile creative Design Competition", and answered the related questions of the students.

According to the introduction, "CV Sustainable Textile Design Competition" takes the theme of "future" as the theme, and takes the concept of ecology, green, environmental protection and sustainable development as the concept, and collects works from teachers and students, designers, studios and design enthusiasts at home and abroad. The entries are physical rather than draft. The work can be any kind of clothing, clothing, shoes and caps, home textiles, creative products, installation art. It can be a single piece or a series of works. Although the entries are not limited to materials, the works of recycled cellulose fiber fabrics and materials will be preferred.

The process of the competition includes the collection, evaluation, publicity and awarding. Among them, the date of entries for entries is October 15, 2019 ~12 26, and the evaluation date for entries is in early January 2020. There were 1 gold medals (20000 yuan), 2 silver awards (3 prizes) and 3 bronze prizes (5000 yuan prize). The material Creation Award (the prize money was 2000 yuan) and the material design Award (the prize money was 2000 yuan) were 3. The award ceremony and the exhibition will be held during the March 2020 China International Textile yarn (spring and summer) exhibition in Shanghai. In addition, all participants will receive an excellent collection of this contest.

"The competition has no rules and regulations, and students can make bold creation. If you have ready works, you can also participate in the competition. Of course, if the works you design are environment-friendly themes, and the materials used contain a certain proportion of regenerated cellulose fiber, it will be better, because this will be more suitable for our purpose of holding such a design contest. Wang Yang emphasized.

Wang Yang also focused on the development trend of green environmental protection in the design process and the global attention to the students from two colleges and universities. "Regenerated cellulose fiber is a fiber that can be degraded in nature. It can make the products we design return to the soil and return to the earth. With the advance of the competition, I understand the regenerated cellulose fiber itself and the industry more and more profoundly. In the face of a youthful face in the classroom, Wang Yang said earnestly: "at present, the polyester fibers used in textile industry are all oil based fibers, but the oil is running out. As you can imagine, what can we do if there is no oil resources in the hands of our later generations? The younger generation is the future of design, and the future is in everyone's hands. We hope that the younger generation of designers will pay attention to the concept of environmental protection from the time of their students. After graduation, when you go to the society and become a professional designer, you will become more involved in the design of social responsibility, fully reflect the design sense of fashion, while expressing your design concept, and integrate the idea of green environmental protection into the design.

At Hubei Institute of Fine Arts's briefing session, Cui Yan, director of the Department of fabric art design teaching and Research Department of the clothing art design department of the college, said: "students may have done very well in the field of their own learning, but if we can combine some new materials for greener and greener design, we will gain even greater results. Our school's educational philosophy includes learning by competition. Therefore, on the platform built by the competition, we also hope that you can enjoy your own design talent.

Reporters at the school's art and design experimental teaching demonstration center see here, there are all kinds of works produced by students. They are all kinds of creative hand-made shoes, but also handcrafted baskets with natural materials. Some students are doing their homework conscientiously. On the one side showing the wall, the award-winning trophies of various national design competitions are displayed.

"In the usual teaching process, we attach great importance to the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical ability, and each of them takes up half of the two aspects. Participating in various domestic design competitions is a good way to improve students' design ability. Students often do very hard work, but the harvest is also great. After graduation, the feedback from employers is still better. " Cui Yan said.

CV alliance promotes sustainable development of industry

What kind of product is regenerated cellulose fiber? Cui Jia, from the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, introduced in detail the development history, product technology characteristics, product characteristics of the regenerated cellulose fiber and the latest development trend of the fiber.

The raw materials for producing regenerated cellulose fiber are natural cellulose. Cotton lint, wood chips, linen and bamboo widely exist in nature. They are rich in natural cellulose. At present, the renewable forest which is rich in natural cellulose is the main raw material. Regenerated cellulose fiber has the characteristics of sustainable source of raw materials, no competition with grain and cotton, high utilization rate of land, less environmental footprint, soft products, such as silk, cotton, easy dyeing, bright coloring and good gloss.

In particular, it is worth noting that in recent years, the fashion industry is paying more and more attention to the green and sustainable issues of the supply chain, thanks to the launch of H&M and other global fast fashion brands. Because of its natural and natural degrading green properties, regenerated cellulosic fibers are attracting more and more attention in the lower reaches, and their applications in retail brands are expanding rapidly. In 2018, the total output of China's chemical fiber was 50 million 110 thousand and 900 tons, and the regenerated cellulose fiber accounted for about 8% of the total output. It has become the second largest chemical fiber species.

As one of the organizers of this competition, the CV alliance of the regenerated cellulose fiber industry has been committed to improving the level of green and sustainable development of the industry since its establishment and minimizing the impact of regenerated cellulose fiber production and life cycle on environmental production. At present, the CV alliance has 13 member units, involving nearly 3 million 200 thousand tons of regenerated cellulose fiber capacity, accounting for more than 50% of the capacity of the global regenerated cellulose fiber. It is responsible for the natural implementation of the sustainable industrial chain initiative from "woodland to fashion", and has received positive responses from 145 textile enterprises.

As the world's leading producer of regenerated cellulose fibers, Sai Lee has been committed to promoting sustainable development and is also a member of the CV alliance. At the two publicity sessions, Pan Yanhua, the marketing manager of Sai Li Li, brought first-line business philosophy, development ideas and a series of work in promoting sustainable development for the leading enterprises of regenerated cellulose fibers.

Pan Yanhua introduced Sai Deli has been committed to promoting sustainable development. The company's Golden Eagle Group has planted forests in Brazil and Indonesia, planting about 300 million trees a year, equivalent to planting 1 million trees a day. Half of these trees are used for fiber production by the group itself, while the other half is used for local ecological protection. At present, the annual capacity of Sai deli's regenerated cellulose fiber is about 1 million 400 thousand tons. In recent years, Sai Lee is through a series of innovative activities, combined with downstream fabric suppliers and terminal brands to jointly promote the sustainable development of the industrial chain. The company is also the first fashion industry to join the "fashion climate innovation 2030 action". Sai Lee also carried out a responsible wood pulp procurement policy and implemented a transparent supply chain traceability management tag project.

At the scene, Pan Yanhua also sent samples from two universities and colleges to samples of regenerated cellulose fibers developed by the company in collaboration with a Italy Trend Research Institute. These samples aroused great interest among the students. They stopped to watch and touch them, which made them feel the characteristics of the fabrics containing regenerated cellulose fibers.

"Regenerated cellulose fibers can stimulate more potential of designers. A number of terminal retail brands such as Anta, 31st degree and ANN are currently partners of Sai Deli. In the next 5~10 years, regenerated cellulose fibers are still very potential textile materials, and the industry will show good development trend. Pan Yanhua said.
