Textile industry practitioners increased from 1991-92 94,30000 to 2011-12 1,10,20000. < /p >

However, the export of handloom looms increased from 6 billion 922 million 200 thousand rupees in 1990-91 years to 26 billion 539 million 500 thousand rupees in 2011-12 years. < /p >
The decline of the P handloom industry is due to fierce competition from the power looms and textile mills, the cheaper import fabric prices, the change in consumer preferences, and the employment opportunities that can be replaced by less labour intensive industries. < /p >
