Vanke Water Testing Overseas OEM Some Shirts Are Made In Bangladesh
Since this autumn and winter, the famous Internet clothing The origin marked on some shirt tags of the sales company Vancl is no longer "Made in China", but "Made in Bangladesh".
As an Internet e-commerce enterprise in the fast fashion industry, Vanke's products all adopt the OEM mode. With the rise of labor costs, many garment enterprises have moved to Southeast Asia, and Vanke also began to test overseas OEM last year.
In autumn and winter 2011, Vanke ordered 210000 shirts in its factory in Bangladesh. Tens of thousands of casual pants of Vanke this autumn and winter will also be produced in Bangladesh. In 2013, down jackets, sweaters and other products are also expected to be tested overseas.
In addition to the advantage of relatively cheap labor, Bangladesh regards the textile industry as its pillar industry, and has a complete set of textile industry chains. According to Tang Qun, chairman of Nantong Xingao, "Bangladesh's textile technology is excellent in the production of basic products such as shirts, casual pants and sweaters, and the cost is about 30% lower than that in China."
Affected by the economic crisis in Europe and the United States, China's clothing industry's export volume has slowed down. According to the statistics of the Statistics Center of China Textile Industry Association, from January to April this year, China's clothing exports totaled 40.27 billion US dollars, with a growth rate of 1.77%, 25.98 percentage points lower than the growth rate of the same period last year; Among them, the export to the EU region was 8.72 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 13.35%.
According to statistics, from January to May this year, China's textile and clothing enterprises above designated size achieved a domestic sales value of 1757.158 billion yuan, an increase of 13.44% year on year, with the growth rate down 18.51 percentage points compared with the same period last year; In the same period, China's export of textiles and clothing reached 90.642 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 2.06%, a year-on-year decrease of 24.47 percentage points, lower than the year-on-year growth of 6.64 percentage points of the country's total export volume in the same period. If the price rise factor is deducted, the actual export value is negative.
The transformation of Chinese garment manufacturers represented by Vanke from "Made in China" to "Created in China" is gradually unfolding.
