India Supports Ethiopia Footwear Leather Industry

The India central Leather Research Association (CLRI) and the footwear design and Development Association (FDDI) have announced that they will continue to invest in leather production in Ethiopia countries in the next three to five years.


The two India government leather agency has made arrangements with the Ethiopia Leather Industry Development Association (ELIDI).

The two major India institutions will carry out technology pfer and help speed up the export of leather and leather products from East African countries.

During the half day meeting held at the Sheraton Hotel in India, the director of the central Leather Research Association (CLRI) and the footwear design development Association (FDDI) made a commitment to the Ethiopia Leather Industry Development Association (ELIDI), providing all training and necessary support to Ethiopia, making it one of the ten largest footwear and leather manufacturing industries in the world.

At present, Ethiopia countries have the largest livestock group in Africa.


India leather is supported and trained by the footwear design and Development Association (FDDI) and the central Leather Research Association (CLRI).
