The EU has provided preferential policies for the 41 least developed countries (LDCs) to enter the EU market without tariffs. Nepalese textiles and clothing have benefited and proliferated in Europe.
According to experts, Nepalese clothing exports to Europe are quite stable compared with exports to the United States.

Data show that from 2004-05 to 2007-08, exports of garments and garments to Nepal fell sharply, while exports to Europe remained stable.
Prior to this, Nepalese clothing exports to the United States accounted for 90% of Nepalese clothing exports, exports to Europe accounted for only 10%.
But now, the export pattern of Nepal garments and garments has completely changed.
The tariff free policy offered by Europe will expire in 2010, so the Nepali clothing association wrote a letter calling for the extension of this preferential measure for two years.
Nepal has been enjoying this offer since 2004, and the EU's preferential policies are updated every two years.
