Adidas Expects Sales To Hit Record This Year.

A few days ago, in view of the outstanding performance of Germany and Argentina in the world cup in South Africa, Adidas, its sponsor, announced that it would boost sales of its Jersey, football and other products. It is expected that this year's sales of football products will reach a record of more than 1 billion 500 million euros.

Herbert Heiner, chairman of Adidas group, said that the last ten days of the world cup in South Africa gave Adidas confidence in its performance this year.

Adidas sponsored Germany and Argentina performed well in the group matches, and the Spanish team was regarded as the top spot.

Data show that in the first quarter of this year, sales of Adidas football products increased by 26% over the same period, including 6 million 500 thousand sales of uniforms, and 1 million sales of German team and Argentina team uniforms. The last German World Cup Adidas sold only 3 million suits, more than doubled this time.

Adidas's "celebration" football will reach 13 million, and sales will be equally popular. Adidas therefore expects sales of soccer products to increase by 25% and 1 billion 500 million euros this year than the last World Cup.

Adidas's current market share of soccer products is relatively large. Independent market research firm NPD data show that Adidas's market share is 34%, and its market share in Germany and the United States is over 50%. The world cup provides sports equipment for 12 teams and 200 or more athletes, including hot teams such as Spain and Argentina, and Slovakia's so cold dark horse team.
