Us NCTO agrees with Mexico to launch WTO anti-dumping investigation on Chinese denim

The chairman of the National Textile Organization Committee (NCTO) wrote to Mexico economic minister Huo Diaz (Hugo Diaz), strongly endorsing Mexico's decision to start WTO anti-dumping investigations on denim from China. Cass Johnson, President of NCTO, said that this move is an important step towards preventing the damage to Mexico and American denim producers in the direction of Cass Johnson.

Johnson pointed out that Mexico's indictment submitted to WTO said that in 2008 and 2009, the price of Chinese denim was 28 cents per square meter, which did not even contain the cost of cotton in denim fabrics.

Johnson said that China exported at a ridiculous price, which hurt the textile producers in Mexico and the United States because they deprived Mexico and the United States of the urgent need for sales and production. They undermine the free market principles advocated by the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), while encouraging illegal trading of goods in the North American Free Trade Agreement area.

Johnson added that as a partner of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the US textile industry fully supports and encourages the government of Mexico to take an active and bold action to prevent Mexico industries from losing more job opportunities and production.
