Since May 31st, the spring cocoons of Nanhu and Xiuzhou two districts of Jiaxing, and Haining, Tongxiang and other places have been gradually purchased.

from

Jiaxing City

Price Bureau Price Monitoring Center learned that the purchase price of spring cocoons rose sharply in Jiaxing this year.

Judging from the acquisition situation everywhere,

Cocoon price

They are generally around 1550 yuan per 50 kilograms, representing an increase of 63% over the same period last year of 950 yuan, the highest increase in recent years.

At the same time, the quality of silkworm cocoons in Jiaxing is generally better than that of last year. It is estimated that Zhang's output is above 50 kg, no less than last year's level.

City Price Bureau Price Monitoring Center staff said last year, due to southwest China

Sericulture

The rapid expansion of the market resulted in a serious surplus of cocoons in the whole country, causing the cocoon price to fall sharply.

After a period of adjustment, the output of cocoons in the whole country dropped to 559 thousand tons last year, providing space for the rise of cocoon prices.

This year, Southwest China suffered a severe drought in the past hundred years. The new silkworm area in the Midwest of the province suffered a cold spell in March, which directly led to the reduction of spring cocoons this year.

There are 3 main reasons for the rise in spring cocoon purchase price in Jiaxing this year: first, because of the general low purchasing price of cocoons in previous years, the enthusiasm of sericulture and sericulture has been affected, and the output of cocoons has decreased year after year.

This year, some enterprises in Jiaxing are going to buy cocoons outside the province, and some enterprises are waiting for the market to buy.

Secondly, as the acquisition time of other provinces and cities is later than that of Jiaxing, the cocoons will sell the spring cocoons to Huzhou and Deqing.

According to some acquisition points, this year, when the spring cocoon has not yet been opened up, the cocoon traders have begun to rush out to gather cocoons, and nearly half of the spring cocoons have been bought by individuals.

Fierce competition in the market makes cocoon Station difficult to pick up cocoons.

Third, futures and cocoons and white silk futures are promising.

The price of dry cocoon has risen to 85 thousand yuan per ton. The price of 3A grade white silk is 268 thousand and 500 yuan per ton, sometimes even as high as 280 thousand yuan, up 46% and 40% respectively compared with 58 thousand and 400 yuan and 192 thousand yuan in the same period last year.

The reporter learned from Jiaxing's agriculture department that 210 thousand silkworm farmers chose silkworm production in Jiaxing this year.

The sharp rise in the price of spring cocoons will undoubtedly give a good start to the price trend in the following periods, and also enable the broad masses of silkworms to enhance their confidence in raising silkworms.
