China Textile Association Research: Dongguan Calls For Measures To Expand Domestic Demand

Recently, the Dongguan textile industry cluster forum was held at Lung Chuen International Hotel. The responsible persons of China Textile Industry Association, China Fashion Color Association, China Textile Information Center, China clothing association, provincial economic and Trade Commission, provincial clothing association, city textile industry cluster research group, municipal economic and Trade Bureau, city textile and Garment Association gathered to discuss the current development of Dongguan textile and garment industry. Humen town deputy mayor Pan Jijun and YISHION, Song Ying and other business representatives attended the forum.

Chen Shujin, vice president of China Textile Industry Association, said at the forum that the State Council deliberated and passed the revitalization plan of textile industry in principle.

The plan mainly involves: coordinating two international and domestic markets; strengthening technological pformation and independent brand building; formulating and improving access conditions, eliminating backward production processes and equipment such as high energy consumption and heavy pollution; speeding up the elimination of backward production capacity; optimizing regional layout; and increasing fiscal and financial support in five aspects.

In order to understand how the textile and garment industry in Dongguan will make full use of the relevant supporting policies of the state in the future, and in order to win more favorable policies for the textile and garment enterprises in the future, they decided to conduct research on the textile industry in Dongguan.

Pan Jijun introduced the current development of Humen's clothing industry at the forum.

He said that since the clothing industry in Humen was mainly exported to the domestic market ten years ago, it had little impact on the global financial tsunami. In 2008, the whole town produced 250 million yuan (sets) of clothing and its output value was 15 billion yuan, an increase of 3 billion yuan over the previous year's 12 billion yuan.

In addition, after the Spring Festival, the return rate of employees reached more than 9, and most of the service companies were able to operate normally.

Next, Humen will further intensify its brand building efforts, including 30 million yuan as a support fund for the development of small and medium enterprises, and 30 million yuan as a support fund for entrepreneurial pformation of small and medium-sized enterprises to help SMEs speed up brand building and improve their development level.

He also stressed that the sustainable development of Humen clothing must go to the high-end field. Only by constantly improving the innovative ability can we make great progress. The Humen clothing technology innovation center is a platform built by the town government. This platform has received high attention from many sides. At present, it has won about 17000000 yuan of support from the relevant departments of the state, province and city.

In addition, the town government has been committed to the study of promoting industrial upgrading, and now is planning six development plans, such as vigorously developing creative industries and attracting famous shops to enter Humen.

Ceng Weijun, director of YISHION group, introduced the development of the company at the meeting. He said that because the group's products were mainly for the domestic and Southeast Asian markets, the financial tsunami had little impact on them. Not only that, the order volume of spring and summer this year increased by 20% compared with the same period last year. Although the staff return rate after the Spring Festival reached 95%, but because the YISHION products only produced 1/3 of their products and the rest were distributed to 72 outsourcing enterprises, the YISHION's orders could still be completed in quality and quantity this quarter.

At present, the only concern for YISHION is that due to the global economic downturn, domestic purchasing power has declined, hoping that the government can introduce relevant measures to further stimulate domestic demand.

At the forum, the heads of relevant departments of the state, provincial and municipal departments also made extensive and in-depth discussions on other related issues.
