EU'S New Deal Affects My Textile Leather Exports

Reporters learned yesterday from the China Textile Industry Association that the EU Directive on the restriction of the use of perfluorooctane sulfonyl compounds (PFOS) will be formally implemented in June 27th. According to the directive, the PFOS content in the finished products sold on the EU market should not exceed 0.005% of the total quality, indicating that the EU officially prohibits the use of PFOS in commodities.

It is understood that this will have a great impact on many export industries in China.

"The most serious impact should be on textile, leather and other export enterprises, because PFOS has the widest range in the textile industry". Insiders say that any textile that needs dyeing and finishing needs to be washed before treatment. In addition, additives such as anti ultraviolet and antibacterial functional finishing may also contain PFOS.

However, authoritative survey shows that most export enterprises in China have not paid enough attention to the PFOS directive, and even do not know whether they contain PFOS components in their products.
