UNIQLO Yanai Said It Would Not "Choose A Side Station" In The Tense Relations Between The United States And China
According to the latest data released by FMCG, the sales volume of UNIQLO Japan fell again in December last year, following a 5% and 4.6% decline in October and November respectively. The same store sales of e-commerce fell by 11.1% year-on-year, and the overall sales fell by 8.2%. This was mainly affected by the slow sales of winter clothes caused by warm winter weather. For the decline in sales, the brand said it was mainly due to warm winter weather leading to unsalable winter clothes.
Not long ago, Mr. Yanai said UNIQLO, the company's unit, would not "stand on the sidelines" in tense relations between the United States and China. He believes that the U.S. approach is to force corporate loyalty, but also to the outside world that brands will not play the game.
