Printing And Dyeing Industry

From January to August 2021, due to the complex and severe international economic environment, the impact of domestic epidemic and flood situation, combined with the monthly increase of the base number of the previous year, the growth rate of the main economic indicators of the printing and dyeing industry has dropped, but on the whole, the economic operation of the industry continues to maintain a steady and progressive development trend.

   Production keeps good development trend

According to the data of the National Bureau of statistics, from January to August 2021, the output of printing and dyeing fabrics of Enterprises above Designated Size in the printing and dyeing industry is 39.192 billion meters, with a year-on-year increase of 24.59%, and an average growth rate of 2.29% in two years, which is 2.24% lower than that in January July. From the perspective of monthly output, since 2021, the monthly output of printing and dyeing enterprises above designated scale has remained above 5 billion meters, indicating that despite the multiple influences of unstable and uncertain factors at home and abroad, the production of printing and dyeing industry still maintains a good development trend.

Development, quality and efficiency continue to improve, and a good foundation still needs to be consolidated

According to the data of the National Bureau of statistics, from January to August, the proportion of three fees for Enterprises above Designated Size in the printing and dyeing industry was 6.82%, with a year-on-year decrease of 0.34%. Among them, cotton printing and dyeing enterprises accounted for 6.64%, and chemical fiber printing and dyeing enterprises accounted for 8.14%; The turnover rate of finished products was 18.01 times / year, with a year-on-year increase of 16.28%; The turnover rate of accounts receivable was 8.45 times / year, with a year-on-year increase of 17.24%; The turnover rate of total assets was 1.01 times / year, with a year-on-year increase of 17.01%. The main operation quality indicators of printing and dyeing industry maintained a sustained recovery trend, but the recovery process of finished product turnover rate and total asset turnover rate was relatively slow, and there was still a significant gap compared with before the epidemic. Compared with the same period in 2019, from January to August in 2021, the proportion of three fees of Enterprises above Designated Size in printing and dyeing industry increased by 0.14 percentage points, the turnover rate of finished products and total assets decreased by 13.68% and 7.81% respectively, and the turnover rate of accounts receivable increased by 3.51%.

Table 1   Main operation indexes of printing and dyeing enterprises above designated scale from January to August 2021

According to the data of the National Bureau of statistics, from January to August, 1564 printing and dyeing enterprises above the designated size achieved 183.502 billion yuan of business income, a year-on-year increase of 24.82%, and an average growth of 0.73% in two years. Compared with 2019, the business income of 1564 printing and dyeing enterprises above the designated scale has achieved positive growth in the same period for the first time since the epidemic; The total profit was 7.486 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 39.26%, and the average growth rate of two years was - 4.77%; The profit margin of cost and expense was 4.34%, increased by 0.49 percentage points year on year; The profit margin of sales was 4.08%, up 0.42 percentage points year on year; The number of loss making enterprises was 397, accounting for 25.38% of the total, with a year-on-year decrease of 12.65%; The total loss of loss making enterprises was 1.375 billion yuan, with a year-on-year decrease of 30.88%; The export delivery value was 24.556 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 14.97% and an average growth rate of - 5.53% in two years. Compared with the same period in 2019, from January to August in 2021, the cost profit margin of printing and dyeing enterprises above Designated Size will decrease by 0.51 percentage points, the profit margin of sales will decrease by 0.48 percentage points, the loss area will expand by 2.67 percentage points, and the total loss will increase by 11.12%.

From the scale of production and marketing, at present, the output and business income of printing and dyeing enterprises above the scale have exceeded the level of the same period before the epidemic, but there is still a big gap between the benefit situation and the situation before the epidemic situation, and the enterprise profit pressure is still large. It is one of the reasons that the cost of printing and dyeing production factors increases due to the high price of bulk commodities. However, the fundamental reason lies in the low market demand at home and abroad.

The export of major products basically returned to the same level before the epidemic

According to the statistics of HS8 code of China Customs, from January to August 2021, the export volume of eight categories of printing and dyeing products was 18.250 billion meters, with a year-on-year increase of 33.11% and an average increase of 1.68% in two years; The export volume reached US $17.992 billion, up 36.92% year-on-year, with an average growth of 0.13% in two years; The average unit price of export was 0.99 USD / m, with a year-on-year increase of 2.86% and an average increase of - 1.48% in two years. The export scale of the main products in the printing and dyeing industry has basically recovered, and the average export unit price still has a gap compared with that before the epidemic, which reflects the great competitive pressure in the international market at present and the consumption demand in the global market has not yet fully recovered.

Since the middle and late September, with the introduction of "double control" policies on energy consumption in major printing and dyeing areas such as Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong and Fujian, the total amount and time of power consumption of printing and dyeing enterprises are limited, the prices of steam and electricity and other energy sources are rising, the production of enterprises is greatly affected, the utilization rate of production capacity is reduced, the delivery cycle is extended, and the order quantity is reduced, At the same time, the cost of production factors further increased. Looking forward to the fourth quarter, the "double control" policy of energy consumption in various regions tends to be normalized, and the pressure of steady growth of the printing and dyeing industry in the whole year will increase.

Note: the two-year average growth rate refers to the growth rate calculated by geometric average method based on the corresponding amount of the same period in 2019.
