Salary Survey Of Five Industry Front-Line Employees: Monthly Hard To Exceed 2000 Yuan

Since the beginning of this year, there are several things that should be of symbolic importance. The shutdown of Foxconn's Shenzhen plant and the shutdown of Honda's 4 parts enterprises and several other factories have made the managers and the government and the public have to reconsider this group. That is the front-line industrial workers who support the title of China's "world factory". They can not help but think about what they are for. Salary is undoubtedly a factor that must be considered.

Most of them are receiving the minimum wage standards stipulated by the local government every month, working 10~12 hours a day, working 28 days a month, and working overtime 8 hours. Overtime wages are also calculated according to the minimum standards prescribed by the local government, and they earn 35 tons of rice every month. In addition, most of them are migrant workers who work in rural areas, and are concentrated in labor-intensive enterprises. There are also some graduates from "class" origin.

The fact is that their overall treatment is not high. Moreover, the wage increase in recent years does not match the rapid development of China's economy. Why?

One question that can not be raised is whether China's workforce is really surplus to such a degree. We can afford graduates with high academic qualifications at a lower price. If there is an excess of labor force, why is there such a heavy overload overtime phenomenon? This is really a strange phenomenon.

Looking back at the past, we can see that the rapid development of China's economy and the title of "world factory" are inseparable from domestic cheap labor force, but the problem is that labor is valuable, whether cheap or advanced, all need to grow along with the development of enterprises, and also need to keep pace with inflation as the overall economic environment changes. Paul Krugman, the Nobel Laureate in economics, once said last year when he visited China that the average wage of Chinese workers is only 4% of that of American workers, even though the wages of workers in Mexico are 3 times the wages of Chinese workers. That's the problem.

The global economy has just experienced the scouring of the financial crisis, and there has been a "two bottom" concern. Especially, the status of China's "world factory" is constantly facing the impact of India, Vietnam, Bangladesh and other countries. The simple manufacturing imitation does not have a high threshold, and the market will also be saturated sooner or later. Can China continue to take the road of making imitation on the basis of that?

Although the status quo of China's "world factory" can not be deprived at present due to matching problems, the situation is not optimistic. China needs to realize the transformation and upgrading of the industry urgently. Only in this way can the status of the "world factory" be preserved. Otherwise, on the basis of the continuous increase of China's comprehensive cost, foreign trade orders and domestic and foreign capital factories will gradually move to countries and regions with lower comprehensive cost.

Where is the way out for China? Krugman believes that China should upgrade from labor-intensive industries to production capital intensive industries. And how can this upgrading process be realized? It should rely on stimulating domestic demand rather than relying solely on exports. Driven by globalization, Japan, China, Hongkong, China, Taiwan, Singapore and South Korea all rely on export labor-intensive products to succeed, but "export labor-intensive products are limited, and the market will be saturated sooner or later".

China's industrial transformation not only has realistic pressure, but also has a dependable foundation. Compared with the parents of the generation, the current "post-80" and "post-90s" labor force, they have more ideas and are more receptive to new things. They expect to be recognized and are more likely to be trained as "blue collar" skilled workers.

The upgrading of industry can not be separated from the upgrading of talents. With more talents, the development of enterprises will be advanced, and more employees' identities and benefits can be given to employees, so that employees can have more happiness. The creativity of employees and enterprises will also be stimulated to the greatest extent. Why should we not win in a win-win situation?
